We are proud to announce the first charity event at Funkhaus bringing the legendary Brazilian Bossa Nova music of Antônio Carlos „Tom“ Jobim to Berlin - just before the 2018 World Cup qualification game Brazil-Germany! The concert aims at raising funds for projects dedicated to protect the Amazonian rainforest.Grammy-awarded Vanessa da Mata is a Brazilian music composer and singer. She writes her own songs, such as „Boa sorte / Good Luck“ which she recorded together with Ben Harper. In 2013 she released the album „Vanessa da Mata canta Tom Jobim“ as a homage to the grand Brazilian composer.Daniel Jobim is grandson of Tom Jobim, who composed songs such as the famous „Garota de Ipanema / The Girl from Ipanema“ in the 1960s. Daniel and his father Paulo Jobim, Tom’s son, carry on their family’s musical legacy. Together with Vanessa da Mata they will present a selection of this marvellous and fundamental part of Brazilian music.

Part of the funds raised by ticket sales go to TARGET Ruediger Nehberg e.V. and Instituto Antônio Carlos Jobim in Brazil, which supports nature conservation projects. The Jobim Institute dedicates its work to protecting the rainforest and its species through environmental education. The NGO TARGET, which was founded by Germany’s most famous survival expert Ruediger Nehberg, works with indigenous people, enforcing indigenous rights through health services and as such contributes to the protection of the Amazonian rainforest.

Prepare yourself for an unforgettable Brazil session!
